Welcome to Lori Whitlock's December Blog Hop! Today we are here to bring you all sorts of inspiration for the holidays! You should be arriving from Corri's blog or if you are just joining in, you can see all the inspiration starting at Lori's blog. :)
For my project today I used Lori's newest line of papers and embellishments which she designed for Echo Park called Reflections: Christmas. As I was browsing through the collection I thought it would be super fun to isolate all the ivory and red patterns for a primarily monochromatic layout. :)
I dressed up my poinsettia petals that I cut out on my Silhouette by using some Stickles "Xmas Red" glitter glue on the edges that I dabbed on with my fingers to spread it thin. I then took a leaf from Lori's 4 Fall Leaves cutting file and added quick swipes with my Copic Sketch marker in a similar color for a subtle tone-on-tone vein detail. I love the little splash of color the green adds to the red and white color scheme!
For my photo corners I used an EK Success punch turned at an angle positioning it on the chevron patterned paper so that the dots lined up on the 90-degree angle.
I layered one of my all time favorite label cutting files with a Santa phrase of Lori's. I added stitching around the edge and then a touch of Glossy Accents (by Ranger) to the word "Santa" to give it the look of an epoxy sticker.
I duplicated and welded together one of Lori's Eyelet Borders and layered a darker tone of ivory below it (without the inside cutouts) to make it stand out against all the different patterned papers below.
To create my layout I used the following SVG cutting files available for purchase in Lori's Shop:
- 2 Christmas Flowers
- 3 Eyelet Borders
- 7 Labels
- 4 Fall Leaves (for poinsettia)
- Photos With Santa Phrase (Silhouette store only)
In honor of today's blog hop, Lori has an awesome sale going on today through Sunday, December 8th!
