Technique Tuesday Rainbow Chevron Thank You Card & More

I'm sure it's no secret by now that I LOVE bright colors and rainbows absolutely make my heart swoon!  I blame it on growing up in the 80's.  ;)  Today I have two cards to share using a rainbow theme.

For my first card I repeatedly stamped Technique Tuesday's chevron border stamps using versamark ink & white embossing powder on an A2 card panel.  After heat setting it, I cut my panel into strips between each "V" and used an ink resist technique with all my favorite distress ink colors.  I then pieced them back together on my card base to create this fun rainbow look.

To continue my rainbow theme I repeatedly stamped the word "thanks" in each of the same colors and fussy cut the individual letters out to adhere directly to my card.

My next card uses some fun circle paperclips (available HERE) that I purchased at my local Staples.  I wanted to do something fun with them so I cross-stitched them on my card front with different colors of embroidery floss to match the patterned paper in my border.  I then finished off my card sentiment with one of my favorite die and matching stamp sets by Simon Says Stamp.

I hope I've inspired you to experiment and try your own twists on the rainbow theme!  I would love to see what you come up with!  Share your creations with me at my facebook page found HERE.  :)

Technique Tuesday & Simon Says Stamp Baby Onesie Cards

Today is all about baby cards and not just any baby cards, but cards using adorable onesie stamps.  I don't know about you, but it's hard for me to resist teeny tiny onesies!

Up first I have a baby boy (or unisex) version using Doodlebug's cute Snips & Snails collection and the Tiny Ray of Sunshine stamp set by Simon Says Stamp.  I stamped them on a variety of shrunken down 6x6 prints and then fussy cut them with my scissors.  For my clouds I punched them using two different Fiskars punches with Doodlebug's sprinkle vellum and then die-cut a third one on my Silhouette to ground my sentiment.  I stamped everything with Simon Says Stamp Dark Chocolate ink which has become a new favorite of mine and colored in the letters for the word "baby" with Copic markers.

For the baby girl version I turned to Technique Tuesday's Bundle of Joy stamp set and paper-pieced all the darling images using Doodlebug's Sugar & Spice 6x6 paper pad.  I kept this one pretty clean and simple adding just a simple stitched line around the perimeter to dress it up.

Thanks so much for hanging with me today.  All of the supplies I used in today's cards can be found in the various links below.  :)

Technique Tuesday Birthday Smirthday Balloon Cards

Hello there!  Today I have a couple fun birthday cards to share using two of Technique Tuesday's newest Birthday stamp sets.  When I saw these, I seriously couldn't wait to make something with them.  They have Teri Anderson's quirky personality all over them with the adorable balloon images and fun handwriting.  :)

For my first card I stamped the balloons in archival ink onto watercolor paper and then colored them in with my distress inks (applied to my craft mat) using a paint brush & water.  This is a super fun way to use distress inks and stretch your supplies.

I actually made this card three times using both paper-piecing and Copic markers for the balloons, but this turned out to be my favorite look.  To finish off my card, I poked holes below each balloon and strung coordinating thread.  I love the extra texture and touch of realism it gives the card!  :)

For my next card I stamped my images in colored ink and then colored them in with Copic markers, allowing the colors to blend where the balloons overlap.  To give my balloons a shiny mark afterwards I pulled away some of the color using my Copic colorless blender pen.  When my coloring was good and dry I finished my card off with sentiments stamped from the set using my favorite Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I had a lot of fun getting inky with these sets and working with happy rainbow colors always makes my heart smile.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  :)

Technique Tuesday Memory Keeper Studio Valentine's Layout

Hello there!  How are you all doing today?  I nearly forgot to share a Valentine's Day layout I created back in December for Technique Tuesday's CHA booth.  I had so much fun creating this one!  My assignment was to use a mix of different Memory Keeper Studio Stamps and Fresh Cut Studio dies from several different months.  This little circle border inspired by a wonderful Creative Scrappers sketch (#115 found HERE) which was perfect for this!

I chose to stamp my images with a mix of white heat embossing on red cardstock and red ink on white cardstock.

To create my layout I paired it with some of Doodlebug's Sweetheart collection papers from last year.  Love how the kraft paper looks with the red and bright white!

Thanks so much for visiting with me today.  Hope your having an awesome day!  :)
