Simple Stories & Papertrey Ink Apple For the Teacher Card

Hello there! I can't believe I nearly forgot to share this card. I have been saving it for several months to share at just the right moment and I'm afraid that moment has nearly passed. ;)

I created this card using Simple Stories Smarty Pants 6x6 Pad, along with several products by Papertrey Ink for a magazine call awhile back. I had so much fun stitching this fun die using colored cork by DCWAV. To lend a little texture to my light ivory cardstock I ran it through my Big Shot using the Sizzix Dots and Flowers Embossing Folders Set (affiliate links included).

Doodlebug Fall Friends Down On The Farm Layout

Hello there! Today I'm sharing a layout featured over at the Doodlebug blog earlier this week using their awesome new collection called Fall Friends. I just love the rich and vibrant colors of these papers and the darling images!

We have a family tradition of visiting of the pumpkin patch each year (like so many people do), but I think we secretly look forward to feeding and petting the farm animals even more than searching for the perfect pumpkin. For my title, I used a 4x4 square found on the patterned paper which I cut down to 3x4 and layered with another hand cut pennant with the word "FALL" spelled out using the Skinny cardstock stickers.

I had so much fun embellishing the different rectangles within my grid layout. Aren't the little critter stickers wearing sweaters so irresistible?!

I finished off my layout with some quick journaling about the day. I felt like I still wanted to add an extra splash of patterned paper (I'm always looking for opportunities to include more pretty papers) so I die-cut a larger circle to layer beneath as a frame. The addition of some darling owl and sunflower stickers completed my page.

Today I have a layout to share using Lori's newest collection for Echo Park called The Story of Our Family. I decided to use it with some photos of my little sister that I've been wanting to scrapbook, pairing several of Lori's cutting file shapes together with some of the dies from the collection.

For my title I used three different cutting files (linked below), layering them over the flowers printed on the background paper. I love how those flowers grounded my die-cuts!

Lawn Fawn September Guest Designer~You Color My World

Hello there! I'm back with one last set of colorful cards that I created as a guest designer for the Lawn Fawn blog. I think these images and bright colors are so perfect for the back to school season. :)

My first card features the adorable "Color My World" set. I can't fully express how excited I was to finally get my hands on this little set. I decided to stamp them repeatedly (13 times to be exact) and to color them to my heart's content. They were really fun to color and since I didn't happen to buy the matching die, I discovered they are also pretty easy to cut out as well.

I thought crayons would make a great thank you card for teachers so I borrowed a sentiment from the Thank You Tags set which I heat embossed with white powder. For the little borders above each crayon I found matching colors of ink and used the fun wavy stitched border from the Gnome Sweet Gnome set. Don't these little guys just make you happy?

I couldn't resist making a second card while I had the crayon image out so this time I paired it with the Schoolhouse Backdrops to add lines to both my yellow and white papers. A little punched border along the top completed my theme. And the black chalkboard background? It came from Lawn Fawn's first Christmas paper collection called Peace, Love, Joy on sale HERE. I love when I can re-purpose Christmas papers like that. ;)

My last card uses some more favorites of mine: The new puffy cloud border dies and the Party Animal stamp set! Aren't they both completely irresistible?

For my clouds I sponged on some pale blue pigment ink along the bottom of each 1.25" high border piece to make the clouds stand out when stacked. I had originally planned to add a cardstock panel down the center to ground my little bear, but when I got done inking up the clouds, I hated to cover them up. For my balloons I taped pieces of coordinating thread to the back of each of them before adhering them to my card. I have tried to tie them onto the little balloon knot in the past, but this way is so much easier and I think just as cute.

I hope I've inspired you to pull out some bright colors and play along today. I would like to thank Kelly Marie and the Lawn Fawn team for having me these past three months--It's been a dream come true having an excuse to work with my favorite stamps some more. :)
