In honor of today's hop I created a special layout that combines Lori's cutting files along with the Jack & Jill collection she designed for Echo Park and the We R Memory Keeper fuse tool. :)
I wanted to create a layout about my sweet grandma that passed away a few months ago. I inherited an overwhelming large volume of photos and I was looking for a way to document a lot of them on a single layout. I am pleased to say I was able to squeeze 26 photos on this single page!
Please forgive the glare or slight blur of my page. To fully appreciate this layout I had to take a picture of the layout with the page protector on because all the fun flip book goodies on the outside of the page.
I used the We R Memory Keeper's 4x4 pockets along with their Fuse tool to create a little waterfall mini album of sorts down the left side of my page protector. I decorated each pocket with a different one of Lori's border cutting files and a 1-inch strip of paper from the collection. I actually chose to seal these along the top so they wouldn't constantly fall out, but before I did, it was important to make sure everything was facing the right way (and that any floating cat fur had been cleared away). ;)
To make the fusing possible I had to really put on my thinking cap because the glass mat was too big to fit inside my page protector and the tool will melt a self-healing mat. Then I remembered a small silicone stamping surface I had by Inkadinkado. It worked perfectly not only because it didn't melt and it fit nicely inside the protector, but also because of the grid printed on it that helped me get my lines straight.
I cut several of Lori's tabs in coordinating colors to help with the flipping and add little sticker phrases to.
I wanted to take my favorite photo of her and have it stand alone on the page as sort of a focal point. It was feeling a bit bare though so I cut a rose from Lori's Layered Flowers Set. It was just the finishing touch I was looking for!
Just to recap, today I used the following cut files available in Lori's shop:
This week you can get 30% off all her and Kolette Hall's amazing cutting files and fonts using the code "AUGUST" through August 16, 2015. :)
There's also a one-day sale going on over at Snap.Click.Supply using the code "AUGUST".
In honor of our hop Lori is also giving away $20 to her shop and a free cutting file today . :)

Just beautiful. The trim did you fuse them to the special paper. I know it is special paper. Also did you cut the special paper on your cutting machine? I have the fuser and didn't know if you could cut this material on a cutting machine. Thanks
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comment. I cut my scrapbook paper using my Silhouette and just used the fuse tool to create the waterfall of the 6 photo flips and seal in photos/die-cuts. I used a standard page protector and then the 4x4 pockets made by We R Memory Keepers which I fused to the page protector front (by inserting the silicone mat between the layers (I've linked the pockets at the bottom of my post). I imagine you could cut out pockets on your Silhouette and fuse them together as well. :)
