"You're Just my Type" Valentine's Day card

Today I have a fun shaped Valentine's Day card suitable for the man in your life.

For this one I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out Lori Whitlock's bracket shaped card available here or here and a typewriter cutting file available here by Jennifer Wambach.  My sentiment was stamped using Lawn Fawn's Just My Type stamp set.  The XOXO's Papers are by My Mind's Eye and the stripe and newsprint papers are from a 6x6 Echo Park This and That paper pad.  :)

Thanks for taking a peek!  :)

Another Echo Park Love Story Wedding Layout

I'm back today with another wedding layout to share using Echo Park's Love Story collection designed by the ultra talented Lori Whitlock

For this layout I turned to my other little sister's wedding photos from almost 12 years ago (lovin' the white tuxedo).  ;) This is actually my first time scrapbooking this event after passing the photos in my photo box all these years.  I think weddings feel so special and important that I felt intense pressure to do them justice, but these papers made the layout fall together easily.

I cut and layered several hearts using a variety of Lori's heart cutting files.  She has so many great choices to mix and match together and I love how the Damask Heart (cut from vinyl) matches perfectly with the patterned paper!

For the pink zig-zag border that you see, I had something very specific in mind, but I didn't see that specific border available so I used Lori's 2 Borders cutting file, shrunk it down, created several duplicates and then welded them together.  Using the weld feature took away the intricate diecut diamonds from the pattern which I felt would be too busy with all the differnt patterns peeking out beneath it and I was able to get extra mileage from a great border!

A little glossy accents on the mini sized hearts and a simple (adorable) title and I was done.  :)

For this layout I used the following cutting files:
Damask Hearts
Valentines Set
3 Hearts
3 Tabs (silhouette store)
2 Borders (silhouette store)
Layered Titles

Thanks so much for peeking!

Winter CHA- Technique Tuesday- Day #4

I'm back today to share my final 8x8 layout created for Technique Tuesday's CHA booth using two new sets by Ali Edwards.

As soon as I saw these new sets I had a vision of what I wanted my layout to look like and be about.  I just barely squeaked by with enough space with the smaller layout size to pull it off.  I was worried that I would have almost zero space left for embellishing, but the heart stamps (topped with some Glossy Accents) came to my rescue.  :)

The two cool new sets I used are called For Our Family and Circle of Love.

My husband and daughters had so much fun being interviewed for this layout that I must remember to make a full sized version for my own 12x12 scrapbook (this one will go in my Mother-in-Law's 8x8 album). Never before has my husband shown ANY interest in my scrapbooking until this baby came along. He actually followed me down to my craft room to see how it was progressing and then again to read the finished piece. Talk about warming my heart. ;)

Well, once again you can see the full release here.  Thanks for hanging with me.  I'll be back next week to share lots of new Valentine's Day projects!  Hope you have an awesome weekend!  :)

Winter CHA- Technique Tuesday- Day #3

I have a third layout to share today that I designed for Technique Tuesday's booth at CHA.  I had so much fun playing with so many of their new "toys."

For this 8x8 layout I used an older paper line by We R Memory Keepers (called Whiteout) and some seriously cool new stamp sets designed by the amazing Ali Edwards!

I love Ali's handwriting (don't we all?) and what could be better than alphabet stamps using her famous penmanship?!  For this one I used a Remember This story card along with the Handwritten Capitals and Handwritten Lowercase sets.  I also threw in a bit of the Big Day and Good Day sets also designed by Ali (and a heart button from Teri's Button Up Set).  Here's the full view of these amazing sets:

All the sets I used are now available on their website and shipping out! You can check out the full release by Technique Tuesday here.   I'll be back tomorrow with my last layout to share.  :)

Winter CHA- Technique Tuesday- Day #2

I'm back today to share another layout I put together for Technique Tuesday's booth for CHA last week.

For this layout I used older papers by My Little Shoebox and a super fun new line of stamps designed by Teri Anderson called Happyville!

I had the pleasure of playing with Happyville Home and Happyville Sunshine (and a cute tab from the Noted set also designed by Teri).  There are so many other cute sets in this collection that I can't wait to play with!  :)

All the sets I used are now available on their website and shipping out! You can check out the full release by Technique Tuesday here.  Thanks for peeking!  :)

Winter CHA- Technique Tuesday- Day #1

I thought I would use the rest of this week to share my remaining CHA layouts that I created for Technique Tuesday.  All the sets I used are now available and shipping out!  Yay!  There are so many good ones that I still want to pick up!  You can check out the full release here.

Technique Tuesday's booth had a color scheme of pink, orange, teal and lime green drawing it's inspiration from The Container Store's Stockholm Bright Office Boxes pictured here. As a result I tried my best to incorporate these colors into every one of my layouts.
This first one is a favorite of mine...  I used a mix of papers from Jillibean Soup and We R Memory Keepers.

It uses their FUNdamental Superstars Technique Tiles (a white coaster like material) and 2 new sets created by Teri Anderson called Noted and In A Nutshell.

These are such wonderful, versatile sets that I know will get lots of use on all kinds of projects--Definitely a "must have."

I'll be back tomorrow with another layout to share.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  :)

An Echo Park Love Story Wedding Layout

Happy Monday!

Today I have a layout being featured over at Lori Whitlock's Blog using  Lori's awesome cutting files and the beautiful "Love Story" papers that she designed for Echo Park.

I didn't have any have any Valentine's photos handy, but I have tons of wedding photos from over the years which have been just sitting waiting for the perfect inspiration.  These particular photos are from my little sister's first wedding and the papers matched perfectly!  She has divorced and remarried since these photos were taken so rather than scrapbooking obsolete photos of her and the groom or pretending the day never happened, I thought I would document the happier memories of the day.  She just looked too beautiful to keep them hidden in a shoebox.  I probably will journal something to this effect and paste it to the back of the layout.

For my main embellishments I used the heart found in her Valentine Set.  This is such a versatile set and I love the shape of the heart that is cute with the wings or used ala carte.  To add a little interest to them, I stitched the circles and layered them with stickles glitter glue and/or Ranger's Glossy Accents.

I layered the fun hugs and kisses border over white cardstock to make it really pop.  I also created an duplicate scalloped border without the holes in white so that the detail wasn't lost when layered over the fun leopard print.  The "Loved" portion of my title was cut from vinyl due to the delicate design.

Here's a complete list of all the shapes I used:
Valentines Set
Valentines Borders
3 Lace Borders
You Are Loved Phrase
7 Labels 2
Photo Corners
Flourish Set 5

For this layout I used a sketch by the inspiring Valerie Salmon

A My Mind's Eye Stella Rose Birthday Card

Happy Friday!

Today I have yet another Winter Birthday card to share (I promise this is my last).  ;)

Once again, I turned to an every day set of papers to create my winter scene.  Love getting more mileage out of my papers this way!  For this card I used a 6x6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye Stella Rose collection.  The prints are reduced in size which work perfect for these small images!

The hills were diecut from glittered cardstock using Papertrey Ink's In The Meadow die set and snowflakes cut using the Winter Penguin dies.  I got creative for the clothesline (if I do say some myself) and borrowed a stamp from a baby set called Hanging Out.  The mittens were made by diecutting the patterned papers using the Shape-up Snowman dies and then inking around the edges with my chalk inks.  I had a lot of fun making this one!

Hope you all have a fabulous (and relaxing) weekend!  :)

A Winter Mitten Birthday Card

Just popping in to share another card I made for Paper Crafts that didn't get picked up for publication.  I actually made this card this summer, but it sort of inspired the garland I made later which I shared here

I used Basic Grey's Sweet Threads collection which is more of a spring/summer collection, but I thought it fit the look of a fuzzy mitten nicely.

Before stitching the two sides together, I diecut a heart from Papertrey Ink felt and hand-stitched it on for a homespun feel.  I have a number of family members with winter birthdays so I thought it was a fun way to try for the publication and get a card I needed made at the same time.  Now if I can just remember to mail it out on time.  ;)

Supplies Used:
Basic Grey Sweet Threads 6x6 Patterned Paper pad
Baker's twine by The Twinery
Papertrey Ink Sentiment stamps
Papertrey Ink Felt
Doodlebug Button
Versafine Onyx Black Ink
Colorbox Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink
Spellbinder's Oval die
Sizzix Mini Tags (original red die)

Hope you have a great weekend!  :)

A Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage Layout

Today I have a post-holiday layout to share that I made using this year's family photo in front of the tree (hopefully you aren't completely sick of Christmas projects at this point).  ;)

I recently finished it for a challenge at my local Craft Warehouse scrapbook club where we were asked to use the green cardstock (which I used to cut out my vines), the Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage numbers patterned paper (which I used to isolate the number 24) and the red wood star.  It had actually been a very long time since I hadn't used my Silhouette in some fashion for a project and I found it sort of refreshing to rely on pre-made embellishments.

For the title I mixed American Crafts red Thickers with various stamps.  The word "for" was taken from a phrase found in one of Ali's stamp sets made by Technique Tuesday and the word "Christmas" was created using the awesome Stepping Stones set created by Hero Arts/Studio Calico.  It was my first time using it and it is seriously cool!  Then, last but not least, the line stamped below the title came from Technique Tuesday's December Daily set created by Ali Edwards as well.  Love mixing it up with the different fonts!

The banner and glittered borders were created with coordinating cutouts from the Christmas Cottage line.  The layered felt poinsettia was cut using a new Sizzix die that I picked up this year by Tim Holtz called Tattered Poinsettia.  The Brads are from Echo Park's This and That Christmas collection and the vine diecuts were cut using the Die-namics Leafy Flourish die by My Favorite Things.

So there ya have it.  Thanks for stopping by and peeking!  :)

Lori Whitlock Frosty Thank You Cards

Today I am sharing some cards over at Lori's blog using some more of her wonderful digital frosty papers.  I had some extra paper scraps I had leftover from last week's layout (seen here) so I was able to make a couple cute post holiday thank you cards.

Working with some of the same shapes I was able to give the snowman cutting file a new twist by enlarging him and using just his head and shoulders. I love how he looks paired with Lori's thought bubble and cute thank you phrase. The cherry on top is that I was able to create something useful with small scraps that would otherwise be lining my waste paper basket.

For these cards I used the following shapes & digital files:

Another Technique Tuesday CHA Sneak Peek

Hey there!

I'm back today with a second Technique Tuesday sneak peek!  :)

Today's 8x8 layout features the debuting Turn 29 and other new sets designed by the amazingly awesome Teri Anderson!

The cupcake, candles and banners all were stamped using the Turn 29 set.  The tab was taken from the Noted set, the words "you" and "superstar" from the Seriously Rad set and the word "rock" from a mini set called Dude.  :)

You can see more cool Technique Tuesday CHA sneak peeks revealed at the link HERE.

Here's a full view of the stamp set I used (shipping January 21st)

Thanks so much for stopping by and for all the sweet comment that have been left this week!  I hope you have an awesome weekend!

A Technique Tuesday Ali Edwards Sneak Peek

I was delighted when Teri Anderson over at Technique Tuesday asked if I'd be interested in creating some 8x8 layouts for their CHA booth.  Of course I said YES!!!

This first one that I'm sharing features Beautiful by Ali Edwards, Good Day by Ali Edwards and In Stitches (a larger new 4x6 version to their previously released stitch stamp set).

At first the smaller 8x8 canvas size felt like a huge challenge for me with my desire to really show off these awesome stamp sets, but I ended up making 6 layouts all together and I really started to have fun with it.  They sort of felt like a cross between a card and a 12x12 layout.

I keep an 8x8 album for my Mother-in-law that I add pages to every year so I'm sure she will be tickled pink that I spent a little more time on this years pages!  LOL!  ;)

Here's what the new sets that I used look like... (they start shipping out on January 21)

Thanks so much for visiting!  :)
