Today I am excited to be kicking off the New Year at Lori Whitlock's blog! She is starting a new schedule and I will have new projects featured there 4 Monday's a month! Yay! :)
For today's project I thought I would try my hand at creating a traditional layout almost exclusively with digital papers. I have to say it opened my eyes to a whole new world!
I love how this cute paper set works for both holiday and winter snow themes and how Lori's digital cutting files were designed to be a perfect match!
One of the nice things about digital papers is that I am able to insert them into an 8-1/2 x 11 document and print just the amount of paper I needed for my specific needs. By using a sketch (by Becky Fleck) I was able to figure out exactly how much paper I needed in each of the colors allowing me to minimize paper waste and save on ink! Here's what my sheets looked like before cutting into them... I was able to use the small blocks of solid color to diecut my title and snowman accessories--I even managed to arrange them on my Silhouette mat so that I was able to cut them all in one pass. So cool! :)
For this layout I used the following shapes & digital files:
