Lori Whitlock January Hop- Echo Park Little Man Layout

Hello there!  The Lori Whitlock team is kicking off a fresh year with our monthly blog hop.  You should be arriving here from Corri's blog or if you are just joining in, you can start from the beginning at Lori's blog.  :)

For my project today I was so excited to tear into Lori's newest collection for Echo Park called Little Man.  This set is full of so many adorable prints and images!  I was definitely most excited about the little frogs though and being able to use it to document one of many frog stories we have from over the years.

I paired it with some fun polaroid style cutting files by Lori, as well as a number of her banners to ground my little frog sticker and show off all of the fun prints from the collection.

For my title I used Lori's "Cupcake" font mixing a bit of uppercase with lowercase letter and using the negative portion left on my cutting sheet. To add some interest I backed a few of the letters with yellow paper and I love the results!

I had quite a bit of journaling I wanted to include that simply wouldn't fit on the space available on the small jounaling card so I chose to add a band to the bottom of my page to tell my story.  I added a third frog from the collection found in the ephemera pack to help draw the eye to the bottom of my page.

I hope I've inspired you to document a special childhood
memory.  Just to recap, today I used the following cut files available in Lori's shop:

This week you can get 30% off all her and Kolette Hall's amazing cutting files and fonts in her online store using the code "JAN2016" through January 18, 2016.  :)

She also is having a sale at Snap.Click.Supply for 30% all her digital products using the code "DIGIJAN16", but you must hurry!  The sale is only for today.  :)

She is also giving away this awesome cutting today at her shop.  If you haven't checked out her newly updated shop, I would recommend going over and taking a peek.  ;)

And if that wasn't enough, she is also giving away a $20 gift card to her shop to one lucky winner.  Leave a comment on her blog for your chance to win.  ;)

Don't forget to check out all the inspiring projects at my fellow teammates blogs.  Your next stop in the hop is Traci's Blog.  :)

Pebbles Winter Wonderland Snow Themed Scrapbook Pages

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Snippets of Mendi. I receive material product from American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

Hi there!  Today I'm back as a guest designer on the Pebbles blog with a couple of fun winter themed layouts using more of their darling Winter Wonderland collection.

For my first layout I knew when I saw the stickers with princesses on sleds that I had just the right photo to use with them!  I wanted to draw the viewer's eye through the page so I chose to position my embellishments in three different corners to form my visual triangle.

For my snowflake, I wanted to give it a little extra dimension so I cut apart a second glitter snowflake die-cut and layered it over the large snowflake with foam tape and then topped it with a circle sticker from the collection and a small rhinestone.  After I was done I felt like my snowflake was sort of getting lost with the pale blue paper below so to give it a bit of punch I cut some navy blue paper to layer below it.  I think it made a huge difference.

For my bottom, right corner I die-cut some white cardstock to form a slope to create a little scene with the second princess & snowflake stickers.  For my pennant border along the bottom I cut various papers from the 6x6 pad and strips of washi tape (mounted onto cardstock for stablity).

For my second layout, I wanted to create a layout using photos from that same week that could stand on it's own, but also look great next to my other page in the scrapbook album.

For this layout I wanted to primarily focus on all the yummy patterns in the washi tape book.  I must say I am pretty smitten with this product!  You get so much bang for the buck with all the variety and options in one book with 6 full pages of 12" washi tape

I am also loving the beautiful glitter Thickers.  Foam Thickers have always been my favorite to work with and these are absolutely gorgeous in person!  To add a little interest to my washi tape strips, I decided to stitch them on in coordinating colors of thread.

Once again, I turned to the same glitter snowflake die-cuts to form my visual triangle, mixed with some of the smaller snowflake stickers from the collection.  I had fun mixing it up with different layers including the fun puffy snowflake stickers.

I hope I've inspired you to pull out your own snowy pictures and scrapbook them using this pretty collection.  I had so much fun playing with all the pretty patterns!
