Doodlebug Sunkissed Layout using PageMaps Sketch

Today it's my turn on the Doodlebug blog and I'm sharing a closer look at a playful layout I created using a new PageMaps sketch by Becky Fleck and Doodlebug's adorable Sunkissed collection!

Here's a peek at Becky's wonderful sketch from this month that inspired my page:

I chose to combine the two smaller photos into one larger 5" x 4" photo which led me to a great selfie my daughter took of herself on my camera last spring. To mimic the circle title in the sketch, I used THIS awesome "selfie" cutting file and welded it to a circle which I had offset to match the thickness of the word. I then layered them on a scalloped circle and completed my title with Doodlebug's Teensy Type Alpha Stickers.

For the second point in my visual triangle I layered a couple clouds (from the new Doodlebug Sizzix dies) with a sunshine sticker from the icon sticker sheet.

I completed my visual triangle with a camera sticker which I layered with a glitter sprinkle and tied with doodle twine. It felt like the perfect embellishment to tie in with my selfie theme so I was pretty excited to find it on that same icon sticker sheet!

I can't believe she has been inspiring us for almost a decade now--Oh how time flies when we're having fun! ;)

CardMaker Magazine- Stamp & Die Organizational Binders

I was recently honored to be asked to serve on the CardMaker Magazine's blog team for a 6-month term and today I'm excited to be sharing my first blog post over there.

They asked me to share an organizational tip and I had been saving an awesome one just for an occasion like this. Make sure to head on over there as I share my new system that I adopted last summer. I promise you won't be disappointed--I have been loving it! :)

A Jillibean Summer Red Raspberry Soup Layout

Hello there! Today I have a summer layout to share using some older photos. I've had these photos printed and paired with a sketch for almost four years so when Jillibean Soup released their Summer Red Raspberry Soup collection awhile back I just knew it would be perfect for these.

To make my title and some fun little matching raspberries I used THIS and THIS cutting file by Miss Kate's Cuttables. I decided to "dress" them down a bit and didn't cut out the middle layer to make them more closely resemble the berries in the paper.

Since the leaves, berry outlines and thin scripty title would have most likely shredded cardstock cut at this size, I turned to some of my Silhouette vinyls to cut them out.

For my sketch I used THIS great sketch by Becky Fleck from Summer 2011 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today. I hope I've inspired you to pull out some old photos and scrapbook them too! :)

Lori Whitlock Blog Hop: Echo Park I Love Sunshine Layout

Hello and welcome to Lori Whitlock's July blog hop! You should be arriving here from Corri's blog or if you're just joining us you can start from the beginning at Lori's blog. :)

For today's project I turned to Lori's newest Echo Park collection named "I Love Sunshine". I just can't get enough of all the happy images and bright colors!

To ground my page I cut out one of Lori's adorable scalloped circles for my background and then used her flag cutting files to make a cute little banner showing off all the fun prints in the 6x6 paper pad.
