Lori Whitlock Blog Hop: Echo Park Jack & Jill Boy Layout

Hello and welcome to Lori Whitlock's June blog hop! You should be arriving here from Corri's blog or if you're just joining us you can start from the beginning at Lori's blog. :)

Today I decided to break into the wonderful Jack & Jill Boy collection that Lori Whitlock designed for Echo Park. Sometimes it's hard to find really masculine collections perfect for the men in your life, but I think these papers and embellishments completely fit the bill!

I decided to create a layout documenting my husband's passion for making fine scale models and I turned to two of Lori's cool fonts to create my title. Lori has so many great font choices which can all be seen HERE (sorted alphabetically).

To finish off the left edge of my page, I used one of Lori's awesome star borders. I started by duplicating it several times and welding them together to be one continuous long border. To fill in each star I duplicated my border shape and using the extra one I un-grouped it, leaving just the stars. I then offset the stars by just a wee bit experimenting until they were large enough, but not too large to see from the front when put behind the border. That gave me a little extra paper so that I could adhere them to the back of the star border die-cut with a Zig glue pen.

Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin May 2015 Kit-Birthday Cards

Hello there! My scrappy friend Jo Williams recently became a Stampin' Up demonstrator and she inspired me to try a monthly club kit by Stampin' Up called Paper Pumpkin!

With Paper Pumpkin each month a unique kit arrives at your doorstep which includes everything you need to create a fun project (which varies from month to month). This month featured 4 gift bags and 6 cards with envelopes as pictured (what you can't see in the picture is that the backs of the notecards were an Island Indigo blue color so I chose to cut many of them up and use both sides).

I didn't even photograph my 4 bags because I ended up making those up as pictured. ;)

Another Simple Stories Say Cheese Disney Layout

Today I'm popping in with a third Disney layout using Simple Stories Say Cheese collections (you can see the other two I shared HERE). I found an awesome sketch set on an angle (sadly I can't remember who designed it) and I thought it would be the perfect design to highlight two of my favorite photos from a trip we took to Disney World back in 2008.

This layout went together extremely quick. I cut my basic aqua, red and yellow papers into 4x12 inch strips and then when I knew where my photos and elements would go I carefully cut them where I knew I could hide the gaps (since at an angle the strips needed to be longer than 12 inches). After I glued the first one down, the others all fell into place.

I paired some punched clouds with a castle and heart die-cut from the collection and finished off my page with some straight stitching. So easy and yet it just might be my favorite of the three I created. ;)
