Lori Whitlock's December Blog Hop: Christmas Cheer Layout

Today I have a layout to share using Lori's Christmas Cheer Collection which she designed for Echo Park. I was really drawn the black snowflake print which I thought would match with my daughter's dress well. I decided to repeat this snowflake motif by cascading snowflakes across my page using a variety of her cutting files.

For my title I took her "Believe In The Magic of Christmas Vinyl" and altered the orientation of the words to fit my space by making it all fit in a horizontal line.

Want to know a little trick I used to keep my letters perfect straight and even? I kept the negative portion of my die-cut words as a template and then used a glue pen to apply my letters. After I was done I was able to careful lift up the "template" and discard it. It works awesome every time! :)

Traditional Red & Green Holiday Cards using Everyday Tools

Happy Friday! Today I am back to share a trio of holiday cards created with classic red, green & white colors while making use of everyday tools that aren't specific to Christmas. :)

Up first, I have a little card which uses an older Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder for the background. I paired that with some fun little bows which I die-cut from Doodlebug's Home For The Holidays papers from last year. For my sentiment I used Papertrey Ink's City Scene Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set.

My next card was created on my Silhouette using THIS birthday Present cutting file by Miss Kate's Cuttables paired with some fun basic prints by MAMBI. I love when I can use a shape for multiple occasions! :)

My last card uses an older set called Dainty Doilies by Waltzing Mouse Stamps that I was just dying to finally ink up. This British company has quite a few cool sets that compliment Spellbinder dies and I love that they offer free shipping to the US with a large order (something great to go together with friends on if you don't want to spend that much on your own). :)

To create my card, I stamped the doilies with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Zing embossing powder in Rouge, Leaf & Cricket colors. Once again my sentiment was from that same Papertrey Ink's City Scene Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set. :)

Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks! Blog Hop

Hello & Welcome to the Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks Blog Hop. You should be arriving here from Jen Carter's blog (or if you are just now joining us you can start from the beginning at Jennifer McGuire's blog).

Today we are sharing special cards in appreciation of all the hard work the Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine staff have put into producing the amazing issues each month. For those who haven't heard the sad news, the magazine is yet another publication who is being forced to close it's doors... I still have a sick feeling thinking about it. :(

I was a bit of a latecomer to the scene and I will forever be grateful to them for publishing my first card and all the others that followed. I still remember how special I felt the day Susan Opel "friended" me on Facebook. ;)

To express my thanks I have created a little card using a favorite Lawn Fawn Scripty Thanks Die which I cut from a piece of cardstock which was blended with Copic Markers. For my background I heat embossed white on white with Lawn Fawn's Woodgrain Backdrops Stamp Set. Thank you for always inspiring me to try new things and get inky with all your various calls! I'm so going to miss having you here to keep pushing me. :)

I figured while I was here I would share another recent card of mine that I thought fit the moment from the Card Creations Volume 3 special issue which sadly had to be canceled. I'm so glad we still have facebook to keep us all connected! :)

A Pebbles Inc. Home For Christmas Tree Layout

Hi there! Did you have a nice Thanksgiving? Were you able to have more willpower than I did when it came to all the amazing crafty sales online? ;)

Today I have a holiday layout to share using Pebbles darling Home For Christmas collection. I am such a fan of this collection--It's really so fun and effortless to create with!

For this layout I wanted to find a way to showcase all the darling images and die-cuts from this collection and I was once again inspired by a wonderful sketch by Scrapbook Generations.

I chose to decorate each die-cut differently using an assortment of sequins, beads, jewels, glitter, pearls and buttons. I love the extra detail and dimension these simple additions give my page. You can see more detailed images of how I dressed up each square on my layout over at Pebbles blog.
