Spellbinders All the Tools Father's Day Card

Hello There! Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there! I'm popping in today to share a card I created for my surrogate Dad today using some fun supplies I've been collecting, but am just now having the pleasure of using for the first time.

As soon as I saw Spellbinder's All The Tools Dies, I knew I had to have them for a card for my stepdad. He is always helping us with all sorts of projects around our house and is ready to offer support when something needs fixing. I just adore how detailed these tools are with their intricate edges and embossing! I started by cutting all the metal portion for the tools using a silver metallic matte cardstock with a hint of shimmer and then cut the handles from yellow and black cardstock to layer over the top.

For my background, I arranged Impression Obsessions Wood Plank Dies which I cut from a tan cardstock and I inked up using Vintage Photo Distress Ink before adhering them to my card base on the diagonal and trimming off the excess. I love the flexibility the individual wood boards offer to create a number of different backgrounds and how good they look when they are inked up. They added just the right amount of texture and visual interest that I was looking for.

I finished my card by heat embossing the "Happy Father's Day" greeting onto black cardstock with white embossing powder using the words from Lawn Fawn's You Goat This Stamps together with the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners, which I trimmed down on one end to be shorter.

Avery Elle Dino-mite Day College Congratulations Card

Hi there! It's so rare that I have the chance to take a break from Sunny Studio and make a card with other company's products so it was a real treat to make this card this week for my daughter who just accomplished her life's goal of getting accepted to the University of Washington. She's been working with an intense focus on this end game since the sixth grade so I'm so incredibly proud of her!

UW's colors are purple and gold so I wanted to make a card to reflect this and my daughter has always had a love for cute dinosaurs so when I saw the adorable Dino-mite Day Stamps by Avery Elle I knew they would be perfect for this card for her.

I started by cutting my 3.5 x 7.5 card panel using Lawn Fawn's Large Slimline with Sliders Die which I ran twice through my machine to shorten my card to a shorter width. I then inked up my panel using the Altenew Ink Blending Tool with Wild Honey and Seedless Preserves Distress inks.

For the oversized "W" logo, I cut it from some plum cardstock on my Silhouette Cameo with clipart I found online using the outline trace command. For my gold-colored banner, I cut it out using Lawn Fawn Fancy Wavy Banners Dies and stamped it with the "congratulations" sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Wavy Sentiments Stamps using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

This came together so quickly and I had a blast venturing out with some of my other favorite brands I've been collecting. I hope you have a great Spring and thanks for letting me pop in and share this card with you. I hope to be back again soon. ❤
