Doodlebug Spring Garden Circle Grid Scrapbook Layout

Hello there!  It's my turn on the Doodlebug blog today and I'm thrilled to be sharing a new layout using Doodlebug's darling Spring Garden collection

When I decided upon these photos I thought it would be fun to line them all up in a row, but I needed a vertical design that would balance the strong horizontal element of my photos.  A 1-3/8" circle punch was the perfect tool to create a grid to fill the space I had with all the fun prints and embellishments from this collection!

To add some interest and a little bit of texture I popped some of the circles up with a slightly smaller circle die-cut from coaster board.  I then popped up the flower stickers with foam tape which is slightly thicker. Using the two different materials gave my page some nice variation.

When I was nearly done I realized I hadn't left myself a good place to record a little journaling so I got creative and printed it onto a thin strip of patterned paper, punched the edge with a border punch and added it as a decorative border under my photos.  I love how it ties in the aqua color of the "hello" word in my title and solved my little predicament at the same time!

I hope I've inspired you to pull out your circle punch or dies to create a scrapbook page of your own.  This would be an awesome design for Doodlebug's 6x6 paper pads!  :)

Carina Gardner Garden Rose Spring Digital Scrapbook Layout

Carina Gardner Garden Rose Spring Digital Scrapbook Layout by Mendi Yoshikawa

Hello there!  How are you?  I just thought I would pop in with an 8x8 digital layout I created awhile back using the Garden Rose collection by Carina Gardner (purchased over at Snap.Click.Supply).

Although I haven't been good about keeping up with it this year, I love the idea of creating some of my pages in digital format so that I can easily mass produce them to share with family.  My favorite way to use them is by uploading them to Shutterfly and using their custom path option on photo books.  They have so many frequent sales on them and they make wonderful presents at Christmas time.  ;)

If you no longer find yourself creating scrapbook layouts in the traditional way I hope I've inspired you to flex your creative muscles using a digital format instead.  ;)

Doodlebug Easter Parade & Hello Spring Quick & Easy Cards

Doodlebug Easter Parade & Lawn Fawn Happy Easter Quick & Easy Cards by Mendi Yoshikawa.

Hello there!  How have you been?  I'm popping in today with a set of super fun and easy cards I created with last year's Easter Parade and Hello Sunshine collections by Doodlebug and sentiments from Lawn Fawn's Happy Easter stamps.

For these cards I used Doodlebug's 4x6 and 4x4 cut apart cards found on their Bunny and Friends and Darling Daisies patterned papers as my focal point images.  I love how much bang for your buck you get with these papers!

For my first two cards I used a simple 3/4" circle punch to form all my scallops.  It's so nice when you can have a tool serve more than one purpose!

To keep supplies at a minimum, I used the same color of twine on all three cards and sentiments from the same stamp set which I heat embossed with ultra fine embossing powder.

I adore how happy these papers make me feel!  I hope I've inspired you in your last minute card making.  :)

Doodlebug Bunnville Neighborhood House Themed Layout

Hello there!  Yesterday I shared a fun layout over on the Doodlebug blog using their adorable new Bunnyville collection!  Be still my heart... This collection has so many darling images, but it was the houses that I knew I would have to put to use immediately.

I decided to crop some old photos I have been holding onto in my photo box for over a decade waiting for the perfect inspiration.  In fact these were among my very first digital images that I took the day I bought my first digital camera and sadly I couldn't locate the original images so it was important for me to document these in a special way.

After I had my grouping of photos mounted on a scalloped square that I die-cut from white cardstock on my Silhouette, I set to work creating a fun little neighborhood scene using the house stickers from the icon sticker sheet.

For my title I die-cut a circle from one of the 4x4 squares found on the Coloring Eggs patterned paper and then layered it with another die-cut circle cut from the swiss dots paper.  For the center, I topped it with a house popped up with foam tape which I fussy cut from the Rainbow Jellies patterned paper.  The circle was the perfect spot to center my title around using the Love Letters cardstock stickers.

To finish off my page, I cut a border from the Bunnyville patterned paper and created a third grouping with a bunny and tree sticker from the icon sticker sheet.  I then topped the tree with some tiny flowers shape sprinkles and other cupcake glitter sprinkles for the flowers.

I'm so happy to finally have these precious photos documented.  I hope I've inspired you to print out some special photos of your own and get them scrapbooked--You never know when you just might accidentally lose them!  ;)
