Lori Whitlock Pop-Up Work Bench Father's Day Card

Hi there!  Today I have a Father's Day card up on Lori's blog using her adorable Work Bench Pop Up Card cutting file.

Lori's cutting file focuses on the inside of the card so I was a bit stumped on how to decorate the front.  I decided to enlarge a few of the tools found on the inside and pair them with a banner from her Journaling Shapes 2 set and a custom sentiment using her Friendly Font.

While her card is adorable all on it's own, I wanted to find a way to dress it up and make it my own so I decided to stamp the workbench with a woodgrain background stamp and to add a fun checkerboard floor by cutting extra 1/2" black squares on my Silhouette.  I finished off my card with a sentiment stamp from Lawn Fawn's Happy Everything set.

If I'm being honest making cards for men can be tough, but luckily Lori has a number of fun, interactive cards that are perfect for the guys in your life.  You can find this card along with many other great choices in her shop HERE.  I hope I've inspired you to make some fun cards of your own this Father's Day.  :)

  1. This is a fun and creative way to get the men in our lives on board with our hobby! I think this card definitely fits any male! What man does not have a love for tools? This is great my friend! I love the checkerboard floor! Reminds me of back in the 70's in the kitchen of my grandparent's home...and I love your idea of creating a pocket full of tools for the front of the card. Nicely done!

  2. Mendi, Mendi, Mendi - you are so exceedingly clever. So full of great ideas and so very talented that you can carry out those ideas with pizzazz and great amounts of style!! You are just a super creator in my book - and this card is just so cool for the fix-it type of Dad!!! So in love with all the great little details this has!!! Love and hugs to you!!!! Hope you are doing well!! I appreciate you!!
