It occured to me that I never got around to sharing a banner that I had published this past spring in Paper Crafts Handmade Home Décor special issue. Given that 4th of July is right around the corner I thought what better time than today. :)
I made this using Pebbles Let Freedom Ring Collection. This line of papers and embellishments was one of my favorite patriotic collections to come along in years. It came in a variety of both kraft based patterns and those with white backgrounds. Honestly I think I bought it all, but this little project focused on the kraft papers.
I embellished the banners with a variety of borders, pennants and stars which I cut out using my Silhouette Cameo. The July 4th title was designed by Lori Whitlock and can be found HERE.
A bit of machine stitching, some hand-stitched buttons and some Pebbles Ribbon to tie the banner together and I was done. It was really a pretty simple little project.
I had a lot of fun making this and it will be a great basic that can decorate my mantel for years to come! Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek. ;)
This banner is gorgeous! So very patriotic and I love the kraft instead of the white! It makes it feel more vintage =)

I wish I could take Silhouette classes from you!!
Mendi - I know you made this a couple of years ago and I'd love to make something similar, great banner! Do you happen to remember what size you made the pennants? Thanks in advance.... Melinda Strange - Huntsville, TX
ReplyDeleteI used a pre-made chipboar banner that was 6 inches tall, but you could easily cut something out similar on the Silhouette. Thanks for asking. :)
DeleteThanks Mendi....I purchased the chipboard pieces, think it will make it pretty sturdy and I have the papers I want. I'm using my Cricut design space software to kinda help me size / place everything. Thanks again....
