Pebbles Birthday & Thank You Cards with Gift Card Holders

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Snippets of Mendi. I receive financial compensation and material product from American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

Hi there!  A couple weeks back I shared some cards on the Pebbles Blog showing fun ways to incorporate gift cards into your card making.  For both my cards I decided to mix things up and use both of Jen Hadfield's Homemade and Cottage Living collections.  I love how well the two lines compliment each other!

My first card features a background using alternating stripes of gold glitter tape and 7/8" wide strips of patterned paper from the Cottage Living 6x6 paper pad.  I then die cut the large pennant and "thank you" sentiment using the free Brannboll font and my Silhouette die-cutting machine.

For the inside, I embellished the Homemade Mini Kraft Pocket Tags with a mix of the Cottage Living rub-ons & the Homemade Phrase Tags.  These little pockets are just the perfect size to hold a gift card which I thought was pretty awesome.

For my next card I turned heart die-cuts into balloons with the help of some paper string (stolen from those same Homemade Phrase Tags).  For my scalloped border I used a die from the Homemade set and hid the seam behind the kraft tag.

The inside of my card features a fun fold designed to tuck a gift card into.  Make sure to head over to the Pebbles Blog where I share some tips on how I created this little pocket in my card base using my Martha Stewart score board and some basic supplies you probably already have on hand.

I finished my card with some extra hearts to carry out my theme and to ensure that it is just as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside.  ;)

I hope I have inspired you to incorporate interactive gift card elements in your next card making project.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  :)

  1. I like interactive cards as they are so fun! And what better way to give a gift card then to give it in a handmade card? It's so personal just like the gift! I really like your cards! The first card is so glitzy and glam, perfect for the little diva in the family! The second card is soft, sweet and gender neutral if you just switch out the hearts with stars. I love them both, great job!
