Hello there! Today I'm sharing a couple of fun ideas for a Birthday banner and matching cupcake toppers over at Cardmaker Magazine's blog.
My 9-year old daughter is obsessed with the "Back To The Future" trilogy so for her birthday in October 2015 we just knew we had to throw a themed party. Unfortunately store bought decorations are impossible to find. I hope you'll stop by their blog to see how with a few basic scrapbook supplies I was able to create my own custom pieces that will help tie our party together. :)

Pebbles Birthday & Thank You Cards with Gift Card Holders
This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Snippets of Mendi. I receive financial compensation and material product from American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.
Hi there! A couple weeks back I shared some cards on the Pebbles Blog showing fun ways to incorporate gift cards into your card making. For both my cards I decided to mix things up and use both of Jen Hadfield's Homemade and Cottage Living collections. I love how well the two lines compliment each other!
For the inside, I embellished the Homemade Mini Kraft Pocket Tags with a mix of the Cottage Living rub-ons & the Homemade Phrase Tags. These little pockets are just the perfect size to hold a gift card which I thought was pretty awesome.
For my next card I turned heart die-cuts into balloons with the help of some paper string (stolen from those same Homemade Phrase Tags). For my scalloped border I used a die from the Homemade set and hid the seam behind the kraft tag.
The inside of my card features a fun fold designed to tuck a gift card into. Make sure to head over to the Pebbles Blog where I share some tips on how I created this little pocket in my card base using my Martha Stewart score board and some basic supplies you probably already have on hand.
I finished my card with some extra hearts to carry out my theme and to ensure that it is just as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside. ;)
I hope I have inspired you to incorporate interactive gift card elements in your next card making project. Thanks so much for stopping by. :)

For both my cards I decided to mix things up and use both of Jen Hadfield's Homemade and Cottage Living collections. I love how well the two lines compliment each other!
My first card features a background using alternating stripes of gold glitter tape and 7/8" wide strips of patterned paper from the Cottage Living 6x6 paper pad. I then die cut the large pennant and "thank you" sentiment using the free Brannboll font and my Silhouette die-cutting machine.

CardMaker & Stamping Bella Blog Hop: Hula Chick Card
Hello there! Today the CardMaker Magazine blog team is excited to be hopping along with the ladies over at Stamping Bella (you should arriving here from Michelle Boyer's blog or if you are just joining in, you can start from the beginning at the CardMaker blog). :)
For my card I chose to play with their adorable Hula Chick rubber stamp set which is perfect timing since it just so happens I am returning from our Hawaiian vacation today. ;)
I used a stamp positioner to stamp the little chick three times and then colored the images in with my Copic markers (using the stamp package as a coloring guide). I love how cute they look all lined up!
For my sentiment border, I sponged on a couple different pigment inks to get just the right shade of pink to match my Copics and then I used the stamp positioner again to repeatedly stamp the accompanying sentiment on the diagonal using Hero Arts Ultra Pink Shadow ink.
I'm patting myself on the back that I actually remembered to leave out my Copics for a picture of the colors I used. ;)
Your next stop in the hop is Tracy Valure's blog. :) Today as part of the hop, Stamping Bella is giving away a $25 gift certificate to their online store (full details on their blog).
Just in case you've gotten lost along the way here is the complete list of everyone playing along:
I had so much fun creating my card! Thank you Stamping Bella for hosting this inspiring hop. :)
