A Doodlebug Happy Harvest Fall Leaves Card

Hello there my sweet friends! Today I have an autumn themed card to share using Doodlebug's Happy Harvest collection from last year.  I just adore the rich colors of this line!

I decided the darling leaves from the icon sticker sheet would make the perfect bouquet.  To achieve this I cut a thin sliver from a brown piece of cardstock and then cut it into short 1" to 2" lengths and extended the center vein in each leaf.

For the stitched border around my mat, I punched two rows of holes using a paper piercer and a ruler (spacing each hole 1/8" apart).  Then using 4 different colors of floss I did a cross stitch pattern alternating coordinating colors.  To do this there's no need to stop and start with each individual color.  I just went through and did all the yellows and all the reds, etc.  It looks like a mess on the back, but it's so much quicker.  ;)
