Pebbles Winter Themed Snowflake Gift Bag & Pillow Box

Today I have two snowflake themed gift wrap ideas to share which were featured on Pebbles blog a couple weeks ago.  These quick and easy packaging ideas are perfect for your Winter Birthday gift giving needs.

Up first I have a little gift bag I created with We R Memory Keepers Gift Bag Punch Board.  I paired it with some papers from Pebbles Birthday Wishes collection.  I love how the addition of a simple snowflake punch gives these basic papers a completely new look!

To embellish the top of my bag I cut an extra 12" x 1.75" strip from the polka-dot paper.  I then punched a scalloped edge using a border punch.  I was able to use the same punch board to add the score lines and adhere it to the top of my little bag for a fun decorative element.

To give my layered snowflake punches extra pizzazz, I added some Stickles "stardust" glitter to my punched pieces and topped them with an over-sized sequin and rhinestone.   When they were completely dry, I adhered them to a bow on the front of my bag with Beacon's 3-in-1 liquid adhesive.

For my other little gift box, I used We R Memory Keepers Pillow Box Punch Board, decorating it with more basic snowflake punches in my stash and some cute "to" and "from" stamps by Lawn Fawn.

To create the perfect sized belly band around my pillow box, I was able to use the same punch board to score my lines using my completed pillow box as a guide.  I love when I'm able to perform multiple tasks using one tool!

Pebbles Happy Day Layout with Photo Collage Tutorial

Hello there!  With the new year I always feel in the mood to purge and organize our home to make room for the Christmas gifts.  Today I have a layout to share documenting my love for organization using Pebbles new Happy Day collection!

As I recorded in my journaling, I love organizing my paper crafts stash almost as much as I adore being creative with it!  I thought it would be fun to create a layout documenting some of my favorite ways I do this.

To give my page a splash of color and a fun element, I added a border of pennants below my mat using all the awesome tone-on-tone prints from the collection.  For my title I die-cut the word "dream" using navy vinyl on my Silhouette using THIS cutting file.  I love the way it looks when paired with the wood grain Thickers from the collection!

One of the questions I get asked the most is how I print multiple small photos on one 4x6 print.  While I own software where I can perform this task, I was searching for a free solution for those who can't afford this option.  I was thrilled to discover Picasa offers a free and easy download that does it beautifully (available for download HERE).  I have created a step-by-step tutorial walking you through the process of creating a collage at Pebbles blog HERE.

Update:  I also have learned about another option for creating free photo collages at Canva found HERE.

Creating collages are a great trick for saving money on printing and fitting more pictures on a page.  I use them all the time to add two to four images to one 4x6 photo!  :)

Here's a quick view again of my final layout...

I hope I've inspired you to take a look at the free Picasa Software.  It also comes with some tools for editing your photos.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  :)

On a side note, I've been frustrated with the emails I've been sending out and the inability to click on any of the shared links so I finally sat down and tried to get to the bottom of that.  I am happy to report that you should now be able to able to click on the various links within my emails to get to where you want to go.   Thanks so much for bearing with me.  ;)

"Wishing You Sunshine" Rainbow Inspired Cards

I don't know about you, but I could use a little sunshine right about now.  ;)  I thought I would pop in and share a couple of my last cards published with Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine before they closed their doors.

This one was featured in their January 2015 digital issue.  :)

To create this, I assembled two identical set of rays attaching them to a piece of printer paper.  I then dicut one into a semi circle and diecut the other into the work "YOU" along with the extra hearts.  I layered my hearts over the top with foam tape and added glossy accents to make them stand out.  :)

Up next is another rainbow inspired card which was published in the February 2015 issue.  To create this card, I stamped the Papertrey Ink Scattered Showers images on watercolor paper using archival ink and then colored them in with a white Prismacolor pencil.  Next I sponged in a rainbow of distress ink colors on the diagonal and misted them with water to help them bleed together.  I then took a dry paper towel and dabbed the white portion of my images where the ink was resisted.  :)

Please forgive my poor photos... You can also see how they appeared in the actual magazine which I have pinned HERE and HERE.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Wishing you sunshine in your neck of the woods!  :)
