Day 20- Papertrey Ink Poinsettia Christmas Card & Tag

Happy Monday and welcome to Day 20 of my holiday inspiration series!  Today I have a card and tag to share using different poinsettia stamps from my stash.

For my card I wanted to finally use my Papertrey Ink Year of the flowers: Poinsettia stamp set.  I usually lean towards more cutesy type images, but I thought this was just such a pretty flower that can be used in so many different ways.  I used a sketch found in Paper Crafts November/ December 2013 Issue and paired it with Echo Park's This & That Christmas papers from last year.

I stamped the poinsettia twice, fussy cutting one smaller than the other and layered them with foam tape in between.  Afterward I inked the center with a Signo Uniball gold gel pen.  It was such a fast way to dress up the center and has a really pretty metallic shine in person.

While I was on a poinsettia kick, I thought I would try another Hero Arts stamp for a completely different look on a little gift tag.  To create my tag I stamped the poinsettia stamp with VersaMark clear watermark ink and heat set it with white embossing powder.  To fill in the spaces around the flowers I used a white gel pen to draw in little random trios of dots.  I finished off my tag with a ribbon and bakers twine bow, with red stickles added to the poinsettia centers.

  1. I really like these two projects. The first one is just very elegant and has a vintage feel to it. The tag is bold and just pops. Those poinsettias look awesome in the white EB... I love them both. Great job my friend!
